The Mighty Swine

 THE MIGHTY SWINE is:

JOE RILEY - Guitars/Vocals   DANN NORRIS - Drums/Vocals
MIKE SKIMMERHORN - Bass/Vocals

Following his success with CJSS and Chastain, Mike Skimmerhorn found himself playing in local cover bands for the last several years and becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the current scene going on in and around Cincinnati, Ohio. Influenced mainly by 70's and 80's hard rock / heavy metal, Mike spent nine long months piecing together the outfit that would become The Mighty Swine.

2009 saw the release of their debut CD on Broad Horizon Records featuring 'Layin' Down the Law' which got modest airplay and made Hard Rock Nights Best of 2009 Playlist. The whole disc can be heard on +40,000 jukeboxes nationally (AMI Network & Touch Tunes). The 'Let 'Em Eat Swine Tour 2009' took the boys on the road and offered opportunities to open for Godsmack, Dokken, Skid Row, LA Guns, Adlers Appetite and earned them a spot on the 'Rock Gone Wild' bill.

The original lineup consisted of Mike Skimmerhorn on Bass/Vocals, Dann Norris on Drums and David Warren Byrge on Lead Guitar. After the 2009 "Let 'Em Eat Swine" Tour David decided to pursue other interests and the band was sent searching for a new guitarist. Having played with critically acclaimed guitarists in the past, this would be no easy task, but in 2010 the guys found guitarist Marty Bates to continue various dates.

After 2 years of extensive touring, the band took a year's hiatus in 2011. With the addition of new guitarist, Joe Riley, the guys are currently at work on their follow up to 2009's CD release & hope to have a new disc out early 2012.
